At Travel&Risk we encourage all to Travel Safe! That often includes preparation and planning before departure and conscious decision making while abroad – especially when traveling to countries where there is a risk of for example political unrest, natural disasters or where crime is high.
On our one-day course 'Travel Safe', participants not only get a bunch of concrete tools; they also learn a process that lets the individual's risk understanding and awareness find its proper place. Participants will learn how to read and evaluate a risk assessment, initiate risk mitigation and handle most likely critical incidents.
The focus is on establishing a mindset that makes it possible to recognize and act on risks in connection with travel abroad. Good choices well in advance will give everyone a better opportunity to keep their primary focus on work.
The course is focused on travel to medium-risk destinations. A medium-risk destination can be based on crime levels, isolation, deprivation of resources, challenges from authorities, natural hazards and other types of risk. We recommend our HEAT-course for travelers to high-risk destinations.
The course will be conducted in English unless alle participants are comfortable with Danish.
Through a learning design focused on reflection and qualifying prior experience, participants develop a mindset that allows them to assess risks and security rationally—without creating unnecessary fear.
Participants learn a range of practical tools that increase their sense of safety and security. This toolbox enables them to act with their own safety in mind, both in everyday travel situations and in the event of critical incidents.
Personal security is primarily about behavior. With the right mindset and the right tools, participants adopt behaviors during travel that optimize safety while making them better equipped to perform their work.
The course is designed for employees who do not normally work with security but need to be equipped to handle travel-related risks on their own.
Participants are typically engineers, development consultants, researchers, and sales professionals who travel for work to areas where the company does not have its own representation or security organization.
Often, many participants are highly experienced travelers and find that the course provides a framework for qualifying and enhancing their previous experience.
The day includes practical elements to ensure knowledge transfer. The course is constructed based on the best principles of adult learning and uses reflection, discussion, plenaries and more to enhance the learning experience.
Because the course runs for an entire day, food and drink is of course included
"A big thank you for an incredibly interesting, exciting, and rewarding course. You are truly top professionals, and I can only give my highest recommendations.
I hope that more of my traveling colleagues will have the chance to learn and experience these important topics."
